【Objective】 This study aims to investigate the genetic predisposition of flower and fruit traits and their interrelationships in an F1 population of blackberry hybrids, thereby providing a theoretical foundation for parental selection and enhancing breeding efficiency in blackberry hybridization programs.【Method】 Using an F1 population comprising 145 individual plants derived from a cross between blackberry ‘Prime-Ark (R) Freedom’ (♀) and ‘Zaohei’ (♂), we measured various indicators related to floral morphology, fruit appearance, and fruit quality traits. Subsequently, the genetic tendencies of these traits were analyzed, along with correlation analyses among them. 【Result】The results of F1 population indicated that petal shape was primarily governed by parental inheritance, while petal color traits exhibited clear segregation among the individual plants of the F1 population. For fruit traits in the F1 population, the heritability estimates ranged from 34.12% to 133.01%, with only titratable acid content exceeding 100%. The coefficients of variation (CVs) for these traits varied between 11.42% and 46.29%, among which soluble solids content showed the smallest CV, while fruit quality exhibited the largest. In addition, the coefficients of variation for single fruit weight, number of small drupes, fruit hardness, and glucose content all exceeded 30%. The fruit traits in the offspring displayed continuous normal distributions, aligning with the inheritance patterns typical of quantitative traits. Further correlation analysis between floral and fruit traits indicated a highly significant positive correlation between the number of flowers per inflorescence and the number of fruits per cluster. Flower diameter exhibited a highly significant positive correlation with fruit appearance traits. Significant positive correlations were also observed among the fruit appearance traits themselves. Moreover, glucose and fructose contents were highly significantly positively correlated with each other, while both showed negative correlations with titratable acid content.【Conclusion】In the F1 population of blackberries, the floral traits of individual plants are largely dependent on parental inheritance, while the fruit traits show a wide range of segregation and generally tend to exhibit smaller variations. The correlation results between floral traits and fruit appearance as well as quality traits can provide a theoretical basis for the selection of superior hybrid progenies in blackberry breeding.
