| 红美人是国内广泛种植的早熟杂柑品种，但存在树势弱、果实酸度较高、剥皮难等问题。尚品2号是2014年国家柑橘种质资源圃以红美人为母本、青皮蜜桔为父本进行杂交选育而成。经过多年多点区试，该品种表现丰产稳定、品质优良。尚品2号在不同生态区均表现树势强于红美人和青皮蜜桔，单果重104~224g，果实卵圆形，果皮薄，易剥皮，肉质细嫩化渣，汁多，风味浓香，果实酸度比同期的红美人低，品质优于红美人，成片隔离种植无核，与其它有花粉的品种混栽有种子6粒，种子多胚。该品种抗溃疡病、褐斑病，抗旱性强于红美人。果实10月下旬可食用，挂树时间长，采收期从10月下旬至翌年2月中旬。栽培上注意暖地栽培，花期进行保花保果，采用综合措施预防裂果发生。该品种适宜在重庆、四川、云南等主要柑橘产区发展种植，是极具推广潜力的早中熟杂柑新品种。 |

| Beni Madona is an excellent early maturing citrus variety known for its tender flesh. However, it had some imperfect characteristics such as weak tree vigor, relatively high fruit acidity, and difficult to peel rind. To overcome these constraints, Shangpin No. 2 was developed through artificial hybridization by the National Citrus Germplasm Repository in Chongqing in 2018, using Beni Madona as the female parent and Qingpi honey mandarin as the pollen parent. Multi-regional trials conducted across diverse citrus cultivation sites showed that Shangpin No. 2 had high yields and superior fruit internal quality. The variety exhibits higher tree vigor compared to both parental lines. Fruits weight range 104g~224 g, with an oblate fruit shape and thin, easily peeled rind. The fruit flesh is characterized by fine texture, tenderness, juicy, and pleasant aroma. A key improvement over Beni Madona is its substantially reduced acidity at maturity period, contributing to superior organoleptic quality. Under isolated cultivation conditions, the fruits are seedless. However, when mixed planting with other pollen-bearing varieties, it contains six or more seeds per fruit, the seeds are polyembryonic. Shangpin No. 2 is resistance to canker, brown spot disease and exhibits higher drought tolerance than Beni Madona. The fruits reach edibility in late October and exhibit strong hanging tree capability, enabling an extended harvesting time from end-October through mid-February. For optimal cultivation, this variety is recommended planting in warm regions with an annual average temperature above 17.8°C. Comprehensive orchard management should be implemented to reduce fruit cracking. Shangpin No. 2 showed excellent climatic adaptation and performed well in some major citrus production areas in Chongqing, Sichuan, and Yunnan provinces. This early-to-mid season new cultivar shown a promising potential for commercial development in the future. |
